Geri Palloon: Sometimes The Old Ways Are Best.

If you’re not in the mood for booze, we’ve got the perfect, simple option for you. Salute our matriarch with a drink bearing her name. Her name was Geri (not Palloon). Growing up, her children and grandchildren looked forward to what we called “Sherry Palloons” in the summer. It took decades to realize that wasn’t a common term. Sherry Palloons were vanilla ice cream with either orange or cream soda. Geri, however, preferred Pale Ginger Ale in her floats. Genius. So, we kept the tradition going and gave our favourite variation an appropriate name.

For this, you’ll need:

  • 3 scoops vanilla ice cream

  • 1 Pale Ginger Ale

  • 3oz White Rum (if you’ve changed your mind)

  • Candied pecans (for garnish / fun)

Chill a glass in the freezer for 5-10 minutes. Add about half of the ice cream and Pale Ginger Ale into the glass. Break the ice cream into smaller pieces. Add the rest of the ice cream and top with Pale Ginger Ale. Thank Geri for her creativity.
